He had died, and that sucked. More for Stiles than Jade, of course - he was the one that had died, after all, but still. She had checked on him when he'd finally gotten out of the castle, kissed him once when no one was looking and told him that she was glad he was alright, and spent the next few days busy with helping out repairs in the city.

Now, though.. now she was kind of tired of avoiding him. Instead of a text this time, though, she simply showed up outside his bedroom door in Odin, knocking twice.

And if he wasn't home? She'd just sit by the door and wait.

And he really liked toying with her ear, fingers sliding over the silky fur. "Nope. Not until you start believing it."

"Letting you think I'm perfect is just setting you up for some pretty major disappointment." She rumbled again, nudging into his hand.

"Oh, I don't think so. You're funny. You're smart. You're gorgeous. Yeah, I pretty much think you're perfect." He kept playing with her ears, smiling softly at the way she was both girl and completely adorable puppy in one.

"I'm not always nice. I'm hardheaded, and stubborn, and a loudmouth. .. I like me, Stiles! I like me a lot. Perfect is just a lot of pressure for a girl you don't know very well yet."

"Maybe, but I kinda like that. Quiet, easygoing people aren't interesting, Jade. They're boring to be around and I couldn't imagine what htey'd be like to date."

She settled her head against him, quiet, focusing on the way she could literally feel him breathe beneath her. ".. I never thought I would get anything this normal. I was- really lonely, for a long time, without realizing it. And I knew I would get to meet my friends someday? But I have no idea if we're going to win this stupid fight we're fighting, or if we're even gonna live through it. You're so normal." It was an almost aching compliment.

"You make that sound like it's a weird thing." He felt a little uncomfortable having it pointed out to him. He was 'the normal one' out of everyone. Lydia was a banshee. Allison was a hunter. Everyone else was a freaking werewolf. He felt like the only 'normal' kid left in Beacon Hills, and that made him feel weird.

"It is weird. It's special. Do you have a family? I bet you have a family!!" Yeaaah Stiles are you sure you want to date this?

"It's kinda not, Jade. That's why it's called 'normal'. And yes, I have my dad." Yes, Jade, even when you were like this.

"When everyone else is special, I am pretty sure being normal really makes you unique." She gave a fond sort of sigh. "I wanted parents. And school. I was soooo jealous of everyone else."

"School is so not worth being jealous over. Really. Teachers can be dicks, man."

"It so is." Finally, so so reluctantly, she rolled off of him so that she could try to squirm under the blankets. She was cooling down, now, starting to feel self-conscious. "Just people, everywhere. What's not to love about that?"

Taking into consideration the way she was brought up, he could understand that. "Okay, yeah. Not being alone is a definite plus. Especially right now. I'm pretty happy not to be alone right this minute." He grinned at her scuttling under the covers, moving to join her and trying to tug her back against him because, hello, naked girl felt good.

She didn't resist when he moved to tug her back against him, and instead sort of just rolled and twisted, trying to find a comfortable way to press up against him. It was -- pretty weird, naked, all bare skin on bare skin, but it wasn't bad. Kind of great, actually. "Tell me about your dad?"

He waited until she got settled, arm wrapping around her as he kissed her forehead. His lips curved into a smile at the thought, but there was a bit of a sad look in his eyes as he realized he couldn't see him any time soon. "My dad's great. He's the town sheriff, so, I kind of feel like I got raised right."

The kiss to the forehead was sweet in a way she couldn't really figure out, and Jade leaned in to kiss his throat in return, grateful. It was sweet, careful, not meant to be sexual; she liked the closeness. "Your dad's a sheriff, huh? I feel like that maybe explains some things about you, ehe."

"Oh yeah? Like what things?" He was grinning, feeling like this was just the coolest thing in the world. He was lying in his bed. Naked. With his... girlfriend. And they were just talking about stuff and being dumb. The only thing that would make this better would be pizza and pie.

She was still sort of nervous as hell about all of that, if she was going to be completely truthful. And there were plans to get up soon, to clean up, to maybe go back to her place -- how long was she supposed to stay there? She had no idea, but he didn't seem like he had any complaints yet. "I dunno.. just how nice you are. And respectful, too. That kind of seems like a sheriffy thing to teach."

"You'd like my dad. I think he'd like you too." The ears would take a while to explain to him, but he had a feeling he'd be able to see the girl past the difference. He had.

"My grandpa would have liked you, too, I think. He probably would've thought you were funny." You know - if she hadn't accidentally shot him when she was like eight.

"That's me, the funny guy." He let his arm lift, moving to pet through her hair and play with those ears he loved so much.

She twitched her ears against his hand, gazing distantly at the wall and stroking her fingers against his bare side. Maybe a nap? Probably a nap. "Don't die again, please."

"Not on my list of things to do, Jade." There was that part of him that was more than a little bit happy that she seemed to care that he not die. That's all a guy really wanted out of life; someone who didn't want him to die.

"Yeah, I know." Jade lazily bit at his throat, trying to sort of squirm herself closer as she settled in. "Naptime? Are you tired?"

"Mm, a little. Are you?" He slid his hand so he could play with her hair.
