He had died, and that sucked. More for Stiles than Jade, of course - he was the one that had died, after all, but still. She had checked on him when he'd finally gotten out of the castle, kissed him once when no one was looking and told him that she was glad he was alright, and spent the next few days busy with helping out repairs in the city.

Now, though.. now she was kind of tired of avoiding him. Instead of a text this time, though, she simply showed up outside his bedroom door in Odin, knocking twice.

And if he wasn't home? She'd just sit by the door and wait.

"When I figure out what that is beyond just the broad generalization of 'more of this'? I'll let you know." His hand comes up to grab at the base of her ear, tugging gently.

She whined appreciatively, tilting her head a little into the tug. "Would you still date me if I stopped the spontaneous sex?"

"Yes. I'd console myself with pie and furious jerking off sessions."

That gave her pause. "-- but not jerking off into the pie, right?"

"Eww, no. I have to eat that."

She snickered, settling. Not tired, but comfortable, content to lie there in mostly silence, until - "How have you not had a girlfriend by now?" It's not a teasing question; she seriously sounded baffled. "Highschool must be waaaay different than I was imagining."

"High school's high school, but... I dunno. I guess I fall into the one percent of the school's population that isn't fabulously gorgeous. You've seen the others from my home. Put me up against them and that's why I'm single."

She wrinkled her nose at that, pretty clearly unhappy with that answer. Almost huffily she answered, "I think you're fabulously gorgeous. You have a good face."

He grinned, hand coming up to grab at her ear again, scratching gently around the base. "I'm glad you like my face. It's the only one I have. But, you know, I'm not at their level and I know that. They're all like, disgusting model level with their faces and the rest of them. Like, you should see Scott work out. It hurts me just to watch."

Jade gave an appreciative rumble at that, stretching comfortably against him. Mrrr that felt good. "Scott's jaw is uneven. He's cute but that's totally weird."

He couldn't quite keep in the laugh. "Yeah, but he's got that smile and those puppy eyes to apparently make up for it." He was completely happy to have her lying so close to him, enjoying the little pets and scratches he felt like giving her.

"You've got that smile. And you've got better puppy eyes. You know that I talked to you that first day because I thought you were cute, right? And you have... a really good voice. Holy shit."

Jade didn't usually like to give in to the dog thing, but she was loose and relaxed and arching up with a whine into his hand like a puppy.

"No, I thought you were just talking to me because I looked like a lost moron." He was smiling, hands sliding through her hair before going back up to play with her ear. Speaking of cute...

"You're kind of perfect, you know that?"

She flushed at that, moving to lift her head, to peer up at him again. She was trying not to jostle his hand-- she really liked the feel of it toying with her ear.

"Quiiit it."

And he really liked toying with her ear, fingers sliding over the silky fur. "Nope. Not until you start believing it."

"Letting you think I'm perfect is just setting you up for some pretty major disappointment." She rumbled again, nudging into his hand.

"Oh, I don't think so. You're funny. You're smart. You're gorgeous. Yeah, I pretty much think you're perfect." He kept playing with her ears, smiling softly at the way she was both girl and completely adorable puppy in one.

"I'm not always nice. I'm hardheaded, and stubborn, and a loudmouth. .. I like me, Stiles! I like me a lot. Perfect is just a lot of pressure for a girl you don't know very well yet."

"Maybe, but I kinda like that. Quiet, easygoing people aren't interesting, Jade. They're boring to be around and I couldn't imagine what htey'd be like to date."

She settled her head against him, quiet, focusing on the way she could literally feel him breathe beneath her. ".. I never thought I would get anything this normal. I was- really lonely, for a long time, without realizing it. And I knew I would get to meet my friends someday? But I have no idea if we're going to win this stupid fight we're fighting, or if we're even gonna live through it. You're so normal." It was an almost aching compliment.

"You make that sound like it's a weird thing." He felt a little uncomfortable having it pointed out to him. He was 'the normal one' out of everyone. Lydia was a banshee. Allison was a hunter. Everyone else was a freaking werewolf. He felt like the only 'normal' kid left in Beacon Hills, and that made him feel weird.

"It is weird. It's special. Do you have a family? I bet you have a family!!" Yeaaah Stiles are you sure you want to date this?

"It's kinda not, Jade. That's why it's called 'normal'. And yes, I have my dad." Yes, Jade, even when you were like this.

"When everyone else is special, I am pretty sure being normal really makes you unique." She gave a fond sort of sigh. "I wanted parents. And school. I was soooo jealous of everyone else."

"School is so not worth being jealous over. Really. Teachers can be dicks, man."
