"Jade..." He squeezed her hand. "You're not my keeper, okay? It's not your job. It's not your job to be anything but you, okay? Just... don't worry about it. It's okay."

"But that's who I am. I have to be the strong one." She pushed forward, then, trying to shove her face close to his. "-- sorry. I know I'm being weird."

He moved back a little, just out of instinct, but he settled close again when his brain realized she wasn't trying to kill him. "You can be strong and not be there, Jade. God, you're not Superman, okay?"

"I used to be better than Superman." It was said quietly, with gravity, and she relaxed a little when he came back after leaning away. ".. are you okay now?"

His hand moved from hers up to her hair, sliding through it as he looked into her eyes. "Yeah, yeah I'm a lot better now. Probably because you're here." Okay, that last bit wasn't supposed to slip out...

She relaxed when he did that, leaning unconsciously into his hand as it stroked through her hair. ".. hehe. Smooth as fuck, Stiles." Relieved, too. She knew what it was like to die here, but that didn't soothe the irrational worry that came with things like this. "Does it still hurt at all?"

"No. I mean, I still sometimes think I can feel it..." His hand lifted to his neck again, feeling that numb tingle from where he'd been cut. "But it doesn't hurt. I'm sorry. If I freaked you out. I didn't mean to."

"It wasn't your fault." Jade lifted her hand, trying to move his out of the way to touch the spot on his neck. "I just - don't like crying over boys."

"No crying over me. I'm all good, see?" He tipped his neck to the side to let her see for herself.

"I know, I know." Her hand slid across his neck, fingers light. ".. okay. I feel better, honest. I just needed to.. tell you all that."

"To tell me that you're better than Superman and I'd better get used to being the damsel in distress?" He was teasing, hand still in her hair as he twirled a few strands around his fingers and tugged.

"Maybe. -- yes. Or to just express my displeasure with you ever dying in the first place." She whined a little at the tug, trying not to lean into it. Okay yeah she would not acknowledge out loud how she kind of liked that.

"Consider me told. No more dying. I'm off the dying list." He was leaning in, hand grabbing onto her hair as he moved close enough that his lips were a scant few breaths away. "My bad."

She whined again, very softly as his hand wound into her hair and he leaned closer. Licked her lips, hand moving down to his shoulder. "Yes. Your bad." And so she pushed a little closer, just barely, not kissing him yet but close. "Do it again and I will personally kill you."

"I might not mind it so much if you're the one doing it." He could smell her better now, her smell hitting that spot inside him that made him want to wrap himself around her and tell her she was his. "I'm going to kiss you now, so if you're going to hit me, do it before then, 'kay?"

"I'm not going to hit you. I might want to hit you, but I'm not actually going to." She bumped the tip of her nose against his. "I've been waiting for you to kiss me. I think you kissing me would make me feel way better."

No more talking then, because he was too busy pressing his lips to hers, his other hand around her back as he pulled her in, because dammit, all he'd wanted since he'd come back was to get lost in Jade a little.

She sighed - not unhappily - against his mouth, tilting her head a little into the kiss. Huh. How could she manage to slyly ask him to tug at her hair a little more? Maybe if she just tugged slightly at the front of his shirt...

He did, but it was a reflexive movement as he shifted on the bed, scooting in closer to her. She tasted better than he remembered and he wanted to keep doing this. No getting mad at him for dying, more kissing because he was alive.

Maybe it was just a reflexive movement, but it was still sort of exactly what she wanted - so it got a little coo right into his mouth, back straightening as plunged deeper into the kiss. Huh. Who knew that would be something she liked?

If he'd known she liked it, he would have been doing that from the get go. As it was, his brain wasn't quite so steeped in hormones that he couldn't pick up on the response, fingers tangling deeper in her hair as he started to so very subtly move to lie them out a bit. For her comfort, of course.

She didn't need the subtlety, but it didn't go unappreciated, either. She obliged, making sure to keep him close, to keep him with her. And then- "Mmhold on. My jacket. It's really warm in here."

He pulled away, but only as much as she'd need to undo her jacket. In fact, he so very helpfully reached for the zipper. "Here, let me help you."

She snorted at that, holding her arms out to her sides. "Here, go ahead." And he would find a very short and very yellow sundress on under it. So she wanted to make sure that he thought she was hot today.

The color didn't really surprise him, but it certainly got his attention. As did the fact that it stopped before he'd finished unzipping her. Oh... oh wow. He parted her jacket like she was some sort of special discovery, eyes raking over her with obvious appreciation. "You look... nice today."
